If a horse is uncomfortable, you can expect training that do to be a waste of time and effort. You will need your horse as comfortable and relaxed as possible. A good way to tell if your horse is relaxed is how high they hold their head. If they hold their head straight up, they are tense and alert. If they relax their head midway or lower, it means they are relaxed and comfortable.
Where is the Best Place to Train Your Horse
The best place to train your horse is in an area they are comfortable with. If your horse hates a ring or being close to a fence, then by all means take him or her out in the open where he or she will feel more at ease.
